About Us |
|
, an award winning designer/goldsmith has been designing and crafting fine jewelry for clients nationally and internationally since 1970. This self-taught artist has spent 32 years experimenting with various methods to master the art of goldsmithing.
Fran has the knowledge, experience, and desire to make each piece of jewelry unique. His ability to work in a wide range of techniques, including fabrication and the lost wax method, allows Fran to create the piece of your dreams! Each creation is completely hand made using precious metals and the finest gemstones some cut by nationally and/or internationally recognized gem cutters.
Fran Cook, Designer/Goldsmith now works by appointment only from two locations: In the Lakes Region of New Hampshire at Center Harbor, located in the little mauve Victorian on Route 25 (May-December), and in Florida (January-April). Over the past thirty-two years, Fran has owned and operated five other locations: at 889 Elm Street and at the Hamphire Plaza Mall in downtown Manchester, as the 'Village Goldsmith' in Amherst and Brentwood, New Hampshire, and The Island Goldsmith on Martha's Vineyard. Fran's work has also been displayed at many galleries across New England and as far south as Naples, Florida. But his main concentration continues to be working with the customer on a one-on-one basis.
Fran is a State Juried Member of The League of NH Craftsmen, displaying yearly at their Annual Craftsmen's fair.
A family affair! Father, Mother, Son & Daughter.
, Fran's wife, has been his right hand. She works closely with customers to make their design process a memorable one.
, Goldsmith/Silversmith: James apprenticed with his father, Fran, from 1993 to 2006. James now works out of his own private studio and has his own store in the rural town of Mont Vernon, NH. James has and continues to develop his own line of one-of-a-kind pieces -- designs in sterling silver accented by gold with semiprecious gemstones. James was state juried into The League of NH Craftsmen in 1999.
, Graduate Gemologist (GIA): Fran's daughter received her B.S. in business management at the University of Tampa in 1994 and her Graduate Gemologist Degree at The Gemological Institute of America in New York in 1997. Jessica now manages the business in addition to handling appraisals and the buying and selling of gemstones.
